Booking the wrong one wastes money in both directions. Here is the honest way to tell which service your home needs right now.

A standard clean maintains a baseline. A deep clean creates one. That single sentence resolves most of the confusion, but it does not tell you which one your home needs today — so here is the test we actually use when quoting.

Ask when the home was last cleaned professionally. If the answer is within the last month or two, a standard clean will do the job. If the answer is over six months, never, or 'I am not sure', a deep clean is the honest recommendation, because a standard clean applied to a home that needs a reset will look better but will not measurably change anything that matters.

The difference is not effort or care — our crews work the same way on both. The difference is what gets touched. A standard clean handles surfaces, fixtures, floors, kitchens and bathrooms on a fixed checklist. A deep clean adds the accumulation layer: descaled shower grout rather than a wiped shower, a degreased range hood rather than a wiped stovetop, hand-cleaned baseboards and door frames, vents and ceiling fans, and window sills and tracks.

There is a cost argument people rarely hear from a cleaning company, so here it is: if you are paying for a deep clean twice a year, you are spending more than you would on a recurring plan that never lets the home fall that far. Restoring a baseline always costs more than maintaining one. That is why we recommend a single deep clean followed by biweekly or monthly service, rather than selling the bigger package every time it comes up.

One more honest note — a deep clean takes noticeably longer, and any quote that prices it the same as a standard clean is either not doing the extra work or is going to rush it. Ask what specifically is included beyond the standard checklist. If the answer is vague, that tells you what you need to know.
